  • Suspension rebuild

I plan to replace my shocks on my Montego VP EFI and was wondering what other parts are likely to need replacing at the same time. Also, will I need any special tools? I have spring compressors

you might need these, I think they will need the gaiter cut down.

Thanks. Do they need some top rubber mounting and bearing too?

NAM1181 rear strut mounting rubbers would be nice if you can find them, as they are often squashed flat. all the other bits seem to last well.

I think I will need these. Please add anything I may have missed:

          Rear
2X top mounting upper rubber bush - Rimmer Bros?
2X top mounting lower rubber bush
2X upper spring metal cup rubber insulator ring
2X bump stop spring aid - eBay kit
2X damper push rod dust cover - eBay kit

          Front
2X top mounting rubber bush - Rimmer Bros?
          2X strut top bearing
2X bump stop spring aid - eBay kit
2X damper push rod dust cover - eBay kit

If any of the above also hold up well can can be reused, please let me know. I doubt though that these have been replaced in a long time though if ever
