  • Diesel thermostat thermistor

    Hi all

My 1994 2.0 diesel non turbo van is idling high when starting. I've swapped out the solenoid and the problem persists. I'm now thinking the thermistor in the thermostat housing is faulty. Can anyone provide me with the part number please?

    Sorted I think:-

BDU 1777 Fast idle solenoid switch mounted on top side of thermostat housing
BDU 2246 temperature cold start switch for timing solenoid in pump. Mounted on front of engine block

GTR 280 Temperature gauge sender mounted on underside of thermostat housing.

    Cheers

"is idling high when starting" That is normal, it is what the solenoid is for. The end of the solenoid is hexagonal and can be screwed in and out to adjust the high idle.
