  • Modified bonnet and vent on A8

Time for the bonnet to get the "scoop treatment".....

As the turbo is ready for it's second outing at castle coombe this saturday, ready to take on the best of vauxhall has to offer!!!

Total vauxhall live @ castle coombe 30/7/11..... but as i suspect, many other cars will be there,to play a part....and so far the weather has been great these last few days..so fingers crossed for another good outing!!!

So ive now changed my bonnet today for a customised one, fitting a subura imprezza bonnet scoop, and spraying the lot matt black!!!

Have to collect bonnet pins tomorrow,to stop it opening and frightening the be-jesus out of me,like it did back in april!!

      It looks good but.............

I always thought the word "Vent" meant to "expell" ...........

So , I take it you mean you have fitted a bonnet with a "scoop" to draw air in.

As a "Vent" would surely be the other way around to let the hot air out..

Actually, though i have fitted it to let more hot air out of the engine bay, than for cold air to feed it,as my intercooler is front mounted, not top mounted like the subaru,it was designed for,so for me ,its more of a vent!!

But it dont work like that of course!! !!

Bonnet pins now fitted, but i forgot to take the pics...doh!!

Its only a spare bonnet, thats has been cut up!!

But..i wanted to do it,for the cold air to fed the engine, and the hot air to escape, rear of the bonnet,so to speak....

As for a subaru, well there were none to be seen at coombe, but a few vxr's went backwards today!!!
