I'd really like to put a set of alloys on my 1985 maestro city van.
I've been offered a set of 13 inch off a rover 100.Can anyone tell me if these will fit? what other options do i have? Grateful for any help/advice.

To be honest there aren't many options. The PCD of your van is 4.5 inches so the rover 100 ones won't fit. Neither will maestro car alloys.

The only ones that fit off of the shelf so to speak are rover 600 and rover 800 ones and they usually need spacers to fit. Either that or you go for some after market ones.
If you have a search you can see some 16inch sterling alloys I trial fitted to my van. I've also seen vans with 600ti wheels on them which are ok but need a small tyre profile so that they don't rub.

It's almost easier to fit hubs from a maestro hatch.

Fronts are a straight swap but the rears aren't. They are a bit of a headache to change unfortunatly.

            thanks

thanks for that talkingcars but i think its a job beyond my dodgy mechanical skills, lol.
looks like the skinny steels are staying put for a while.
This is probably going to sound really daft but are the doors on the vans the same as the hatchbacks?? Being an ex ford escort driver i know the 2 & 4 doors are different sizes & the doors on the van s were slightly different still.
Will i have to look for van doors to replace mine or will hatch ones fit??

Maestro hatch and maestro van front doors are the same. Montego front doors also fit however have a different trim on the door top.

Will wheels from a Rover 400 (R8) fit?

If so I know someone who has new 420GSi Exec 14" wheels for sale at £25 each.

No, the R8's and R3's use 4x100mm unfortunatly, otherwise I'd have already pilfered lindz's 220gti wheels

I'm suprised you want to move away from the 114.3mm PCD, you have a whole world of possibilities! Many Japanese cars have this fitment, and as the Japanese tuning scene is so big there is a wealth of aftermarket and factory alloy wheels in that PCD
I'm changing my Montego over to van hubs as soon as its on the road again

The other problem aside from the choice of wheels is the fact that van's only come with solid discs which aren't really up to any enthusiastic driving. You can't simply bung some vented discs on like you can on the maestro/montego cars. One of the main reasons I've swapped is to fit the PAW big brake kit as I'll need all the stopping power I can get.

                        Good point ETV
I suppose somewhere out there theres a decent disk from a car that uses 4x114.3 with suitable offset/dimensions, but its a lot of trial and error!
