What to do to cure rough start after throttle clean on MEMS ECU system?
On my MEMS 91' EFI with 95K miles on the clock, I found the throttle body to be all carbonized inside, and the car wasn't starting or idling well. So I detached the throttle body and cleaned it with the appropriate stuff (after first detaching the potentiometer and stepper motor so as not to damage...

Stainless steel or upgraded exhaust for 2.0 EFi montego?
Hi.
I know there was another thread on this many years ago, but I am wondering whether anyone has any tips on what is the best exhaust to buy or to upgrade to. Are there any good custom exhausts out there for the montego?

[WANTED] Rover Montego Rear Axle (second hand)
I need a second hand rear axle for my montego saloon 2.0i, because sometime ago, I had to drill out a shock absorber screw. I then could not screw back a normal shock absorber screw threading into the axle, so I had to use a tension bolt through the shock absorber. 50,000 miles later, it has now worn...

Shock Mounting bushes for Montego

I thought that was the end of my car, but a good AA man fixed in temporarily for me. Anyway, the result is that I am now missing the lower mounting bush. It...

I was dissatisfied with the advice given in a thread now in the Electrical Forum concerning rectifying Montego air conditioning, rheostat and heater problems, so am posting these tips on how to solve problems at minimal cost. Clearly it is the case that these heater problems can cost a small fortune...

Rear crankshaft oil seal
Has anyone ever replaced this item on a post 1989 2.0i? Easy or difficult? It requires temporarily removing the gearbox. Does anyone have any experience of this kind of thing or know of any garages who can do it for a modest fee?

hi from fbm777
hi all
I joined today and am very impressed by the amount of information here.
I have owned montegos for 20 years now. Mr first was a 1984 1.3L model which I brought in 1986 for £3800 with 2000 miles on the clock. I kept it on the road until 2001, when the milometer got...
