Not defending the guy if he has "wound it back", but what if the speedo head had packed up?

Some find it easier to buy a used set of clocks off ebay and fit them to keep the car usable?

      Possibly a typo 85,525 becoming 58,525 instead.

To be fair I think it only won an award because it was the only other car in it's class & a trophy was simply there. It certainly wasn't a show car!!

Just thought I'd put a further post up about this car and what I have found out about it as I was possibly considering buying it.
However, I am not buying it because of the transport costs being far too expensive to have the car brought to me here in Surrey or Lincoln.

I managed to speak to the seller last sunday about this car and as far as I'm concerned there are still some in-consistent facts relating to the mileage.
The seller now claims the car is showing the correct mileage on the clock and that he took the mileage from the last MOT certificate he looked at. Quite what one makes of this is up to you but normally I'd look at the clock in the car first and then check paperwork to see what that says afterwards. The seller was already aware that there was a mileage discrepency reagrding the car and it all doesn't sound right to me that one minute the mileage is this, then it's something else and then it's correct as it was, enough reason here alone to avoid it as it sounds to me like he's been rumbled.

I got a narky text off this seller a couple of days later aswell branding me a 'dreamer like the rest of them' because I had not got back to him about it. A dreamer for a car that's £500? Hardly think so when I've already got 6 better and more valuable cars than this one and atleast none of them are dodgy or had a dodgy seller either.

So if anyone is thinking about this car for whatever reason I wouldn't bother and leave your thoughts in your head and your cash in your wallet.

Agreed Matt, sounds fishy to me, but at least you got through to him, and as for being a dreamer over £500

It really is a shame that this car ended up with who it has, I think it could have had some potential. And the numpty wonders why he can't sell it and people have walked away from it. Only dreamer is him as he's obviously on a different planet to anyone else.
