Good thinking, Mr Rawlings... Count me in! You looking for around July/August? Hopefully I'll be driving by then!

I also expect it'd be quite hard to find a location/route, considering all the good roads are on this side of Stoke...

        Great Southern Run

        Count me in Ben.

Pick a good scenic route, with plenty of culture thrown in.

P.S. It'll be a treat for those Northerners- a trip out without having to wash the pigeon poo from their cars on return

P.P.S That was in return for that Joke you posted on MG-Rover .org Steve

The route hasn't been decided yet Gareth.

If you're open to suggestions Ben: I think a route 'down your way' would be good.
I personally recon a tour round Wiltshire would be suitable taking in a few of the ancient monuments?
The view from Uffington 'white horse' is fabulous.

I'll have you know we've never had one splat of shat on a car whilst doing some of the best roads in the Country...

'Where in the South?' is a good question... There's not that many scenic places to choose from...

You’re a southern man, what’s down your way? What’s a good site or route? To visit

Well i know plenty of good places and roads, but not worth suggesting them as they would be too far out of the way of most MMOC members sadly.

I'd go if it's a weekend I'm not doing anything else.

The Cotswolds is the obvious one. Or the Mendips? A bit further west, Dartmoor/Exmoor? Obviously not all give you the dramatic and barren landscapes there are further north (my preference!) but it's still a great driving experience if you pick the right route and time of year.

Nul Points for that one, Steve  . There's loads of beautiful places in the South - in fact all through the British Isles. They just need to be discovered...

Open you eyes Steve, maybe you should get out and drive to the South Coast, Devon and Cornwall is very scenic for example.

As long as there is a camp site and hotel in the area (within, say, 20 or 30 miles), you would be surprised how many of us would come and make a full weekend of it.

So go on, name names .

I also know of a chap in London who would like to organise a run in Suffolk - but that is just an idea at the moment.

Keep all your ideas coming, folks .

I'm not saying there aren't any nice places... Lighten up, I was having a joke about there 'not being many' of them. Indeed I was the first to show interest in going and I'm sure that it would make for a very good weekend.
