  • Early Austin Maestro required for Classic Car Buyer road test

Had the following email from one of the writers at Classic Car Buyer - if anyone has a suitable car and would be willing to get involved, please PM me and I will pass on the contact details.

    Good morning, Chris,

I’m contacting you to see if you and the M&MOC would be able to help me with an upcoming feature for Classic Car Buyer.

We’ll be running a road test of the Maestro (combined with a history/tribute for the 30th anniversary) and am hoping you’ll be able to put me in contact with someone with a suitable car.

Since it’s an anniversary, the earlier the car the better but this isn’t crucial. As much as I’d like to drive an MG one it should really be an Austin since the aim of the road test is to get a feel for the more mass-market appeal of the Maestro.

I’m not planning any major road trips- I would just need the car for an hour or two to get a feel for it and take some photos.

Date-wise, Tuesday, 14th May is the last possible day to give time to get everything written up in time for press, but any time before that is possible. I’m based in Peterborough but travelling isn’t a problem.

Many thanks and looking forward to hearing from you,

    Jack Grover
