Mine was ordered at a launch event with black paint as the only added option. It was delivered and registered on 25th May 1983, so took around two months to arrive.

My R series was registered 2/8/83, so a bit more modern than yours ha ha ha!

started a topic Calling all MG 1600 Maestro owners.

Calling all MG 1600 Maestro owners.

I'm trying to find out if my own MG1600 R series is the longest survivor.
so, my questions to the club members/owners are,.....

1,How many R series MG1600 cars are left? Either running or sorned?
2, what is the build date or first registration date of your car?

According to the heritage cirtificate, my Y reg was built March 12th 1983, and delivered to the dealership as a demo car on March 15th 1983, then registered on the 17th so a pretty early one.

Can anyone shed any light on their own R series MG?
Working...
