Has anyone ever fitted a sump guard for the auto transmission sump on a Maestro 1.6 auto? The transmission sump on the auto hangs down really low and keeps hitting the ground with the current state of our roads. Looking for ideas on how best to protect it ?

Vigilance may be the only way. Even if there was a sump guard that would just increase the chance of hitting something anyway as it would reduce the clearance further. This may be useful in so much as the official ground clearance is pretty low to begin with https://maestro.org.uk/cars/the-maestro/technical/ it shows the different clearances for different tyre types._____________________________________________

Will check height but as the figures do not seem to list a auto as different I believe they may be for manuals only. As to a guard being lower still then the issue is that at the moment the auto gearbox sump plate is hitting the ground first, if a guard over it hits the ground before it then it would at least be protected and could be regarded as expendable. I suppose weak front springs could compound the issue as they may still be the originals.
