Am planning on checking the valve clearance on my mg turbo. Is there anything special I need to do to do this.

Yes you will need clamps to hold the cam. I cut up an old cam cover when I rebuilt my sons engine and cylinder head and they worked a treat. Bit rough but they work and you can have if you want for just the post.
