  • MG Maestro Turbo #381

Well, I have another project on the go on the drive. I collected MGT 381 on Saturday knowing it needs work but is a lot worse than I thought it would be.

A list of what it needs to be released onto the road is below, it is currently got mot until sept so I am planning on letting it loose on the local traffic next month if the repairs go well to make it legal at least!!

    Headlining missing
    Boost pipes loose
    Headgasket failure
    Water pump U/S
    Alternator U/S
Boot rear panel has a hole big enough for me to touch the bumper through it!
Central locking stays engaged so it locks you in or out
    Oil pressure light inop
Fuel pump blocked (gives about 5 mins of running then the fuel runs out)
    Fuel pump constantly running
    Old alarm system needs removing
A general tidy up of the panels to remove what's left of the rubbing strips
Locate missing body kit parts and refit them
    Mixed size alloys

Nice project you have there. One day i will have a Maestro turbo again. Need a new house first though

The fuel pump problem will be linked with the oil pressure light no doubt.

    Good luck

I will get a picture of how bad it is at the back over the next few days, needs a bit at the front welding but there's no terminal rot in it I think, and hope..
