Sorry to say I've never worked for BL/AR/MGR -that is unless you count paying for spares:laugh:

Serious though, I'm a Farmer with Perkins powered tractors

Never had a 'Leyland tractor' though- perhaps I ought to add one to the collection

Oh no -you're not suggesting a career in DEFRA

I have suggested to the BL rally committee- they ought to have a 'Leyland' tractor display , for the past two years I have spotted tractor parts in the auto-jumble.

I was an electrical engineering apprentice with an electrical contracting company, after i came out my time I worked as site foreman for about a year, then I became a Contract Engineer in the office. I sometimes wish I'd gone to university but by the time I'd done my A levels I was sick of it so I went down apprenticeship route. I ended up with an HNC in Electrical Engineering so I didnt do too bad.

for the last few years Ive been working for the water department of our company, I was the electrical foreman on the new sewage works at Ledbury which was probably my favorite job, I liked working on site better than in the office which is constant grief and arguing about money.

Last job I did was Romsey near southampton,

Hmm, never been there before..... Romsey's a whopping 3 or 4 miles from here, and to be honest in my opinion the whole town needs levelling and leaving, I can't stand the place! Went to school there for 5 years.....
Try and avoid the place wherever possible, I assume you were down by the river in Fishlake Meadows.....

Not sure where exactly in terms of place names but its located just off the junction of the A3090 with the A27.

Its probably my least favorite place Ive worked because of the distance I have to travel, 4 & a half hours driving each way. I was doing that once a week for about 18 weeks, and Ive had about 6 trips down there overnight, which arent as bad but still a pain.

Typical day trip to Romsey starts at my house, leave at about half 5, drive to Romsey, get there for about 10.30 spend the day on site, leave at about 6, get back for 11.00 at night....

I wont do it anymore, My boss thought it was a good idea but our H&S man thought otherwise.... So now if I go down I take advantage of an all expenses paid stay in the premier travel inn at Ower.

You havent been in the texaco garage on the ower roundabout per chance? thats where i work, its not fun but its a job..... Bottom of Pauncefoot Hill? At least you don't have to venture too far in to Romsey, and I gather the Vine is a nice enough place to stay, and the food's not too bad either! I couldn't really recommend anywhere better, put it that way!
If you do go into the texaco, look out for the atlantic blue 2.0i maestro which may or may not be lurking around somewhere, my mate's currently using it as his mode of transport to work, feast your eyes on the amount of bodywork i've got to do.....!

I have been to that Texaco, lots of times, I've seen the Blue EFi, I was quite impressed, I noticed it had a bit of rust but overall I thought it was top class, That dark metalic blue is the best colour for a maestro in my oppinion. You might remember me, I was the idiot who tried to put 20 quid on my phone and didnt check my receipt to see if it had gone through, then lost the receipt and had to come round begging for the manager to give my money back, then I found the receipt coated in a layer of frost on the floor at work so I fetched it back. I got my money back so I can say that that Texaco is a quality one!

I'm useless at remembering anyone, we see so many people in that place you'd be hard pushed to tell one person from another! I've heard grovelling to the manager is a rewarding experience, especially if she's in a good mood! If/when you go in there again, I'm the big really useless looking one with the mousey brown hair, as opposed to the big useless looking ones with ginger hair and dark brown hair!
I spose the MG isn't that bad really, its just the hole in the sill, which I assume you couldn't see, probably cos it was parked against the bush! Oh, and I guess it was sporting it's lovely addition of duck tape to the roof, which was the only way I could stop it leaking!

I didnt look too close to be honest, but it just looked in typical maestro condition.... Thats got to be worth an effort though, would make a nice car...

I definitely wouldnt say no if your manager wanted me to....... (You can see where this is going so I'll stop it there)

Its a small world, if I'm unlucky enough to travel down Romsey way again I'll see if I can spot you.

A trip down that way might be on the cards to collect a back door from Ben...

Yeah, shes not too bad, there definitely is worse, and it's not a bad colour either..... just needs a bit of work!

Yeah, come and dig me out, if indeed you are unlucky enough to have the town of Romsey inflicted on you again! Ben's is about an hour's drive from here, and I'm also guessing i know where that door came from.....!

And you are definitely not the first person to say that about our manager, and you definitely will not be the last!!!!
