If it wasn't for the bodykit I think it would look nice. Get an original bonnet and bumper and hey presto. The wheels aint too bad and would probably complement the original bumpers etc. I've never been a fan of bodykits, but have a thing about big wheels as most of you on here know after seeing Jum completed!

The thing is with it to get it back to an original looking car would cost some dosh, None of the electric windows work with the drivers side bonded closed with silicone, there are 5 19 inch wheels with 3 knackered tyres, then there would be front and rear bumpers and bonnet to get hold of then fit then paint, The ride is firm to hard (the handling is very good tho ) then there is a gearbox that i would have to get hold of, By the time I get it back to somewhere i would like it there would be some serious amounts of cash thrown at it. I only want the gearbox out of it then i will ebay or sell private the bits and bobs and scrap the shell, unless someone wants to buy the whole thing (minus a gearbox)

        What do you all think?

        Thanks

        Simon.

          I think it's your call.
It's not like you're dismantling something particularly rare and desirable.
All the specialist parts (kit, wheels, suspension, exhaust, is the engine stock? surely not) will bring a bob or two if publicised in the right circles.

Whats your location? There was a silver Rover 800 at G W Bridges in Crawley. Although the door cards have been cannibalised a bit after I removed the wood panels. :P

            Defo go original.

Hi mate, I'm after the large wooden panel on the rear passenger side door. With the gold line on it. Must be burr walnut, I know have seen some other types of wood which wouldn't match my current ones.

The large panel of wood as in photo 5 of this article...

Shame your not restoring it to original spec, another 800 gone...
