  • Its been a while......

Just thought I'd pop some photos of my Maestro up in the Welcome section. Its been some time since I last logged onto here. My cars been in hibernation since the later part of 2007, when it was last taxed for use on the road.

The photos were taken at the end of last summer. Despite no use and little attention the car fires up straight away and its survived suprisingly well. Plans for the car are yet to be decided, but I think it would be nice to get back onto the road again!

Welcome back mate, the car looks absolutely superb!

That is going to waste being hidden away.

Thanks. Yes I have to agree it is a bit of a waste...but I'm getting the bug to get it back on the road. All thats needed is a little time and investment.

I think I remember this car from shows of old. Did it used to go to MGM Day and the MG Day at Gaydon? I may have some pictures of it somewhere.

With the car standing for such a long time the brakes will need attention. Apart from that the car is mechanically sound, as everything has been replaced and rebuilt etc. Mainly the car would benefit from some cosmetics and a little tidy, the headlining has dropped as usual!

The car has been to MGM's, it won MG World Magazine car of the show way back in 2000 and best modified at MGM 2002.

Ah yes thats me. The car had just been finished the day before after having a full respray! Also sporting the troublesome HJW Kit. I think the car is ageing a little better than its owner. Great photos!

Welcome back mate that car has been sorely missed at MG Saloon Days, is it still fitted with the herringbone bucket seats?

Still has the race seats. Work has started to get the car back where it should be!

A couple of photos taken yesterday. Had the car running for the first time since before winter. A little gentle coaxing and it fired up quite nicely. Carb needs a service though I think! Blasting some rather impressive flames out the exhaust when blipping the throttle. Anti-lag has to be a temptation!

What happened to the headlights? I was always quite fond of the twin-headlamp conversion

They were almost impossible to set up. Quite poor really! Over priced too!
