  • Hello from Portugal

    Hi

My name is José, and I am a British Classic Cars lover.

I live in Estoril, Portugal, next to the famous Estoril Circuit.
My father always had cars ingleses.E they are well etched in my memory.
I learned to drive in an Austin Cooper, and when I got the license, the car I drove was a Morris 1300 GT.
The passion for these cars is very high, and so I have a collection of cars BMC / BL, which is constantly increasing.
Among the cars I own, are one 1988 Austin Montego 1.3 LS and 1985 Austin Maestro 1.3, both in perfect working condition.
I intend to continue to keep alive the Austin brand in Portugal, participating in concerts and meetings of classic vehicles.

Thank you for accepting me in the forum, and I hope to bring interesting things for everyone.

    Kind regards

    José

                  Hi Jose,
Welcome. What a great collection. I love the 1800S. Just like the one my Father had and used to let me drive when I passed my driving test (a long time ago). I've been to Portugal many times but not seen a BL car. You were lucky to find all those!! Cheers, John.

That looks an absolute minter aswell! Our old British cars seem to last very well in the sunshine and in another country!

                          Hi

I bought another Montego. This time was a 1987 MG Montego Turbo. The car was stopped about 19 years and needs a lot of care. I have started to repair some things. Carburetor adjustment and new battery.
At this point the engine already works well. Needs new bumpers front and a rear muffler.
And she needs a very very large general cleaning. Inside, outside & engine bay.
