Hi all, just a quick line to say hello, .."hello"! :-D
Ive restored many cars over the years frim mk3 ford escort xr3 to a 72 bmw cs coupe.
now tho ive resisted the itch for an mg maestro, but now ive got to scratch it!! So im on the look out for either an early 1600 carb car or a later efi. But please excuse my lack of technical knowledge on these cars. so if you can help, that will be great.
so il scour the classified section but if you have one sitting around, please pm me.
    all the best

Hi again, right ive done a little bit of homework and the model im after is the first carnation 1600 with the digi talking dash. I know most of these are now either bean cans or cherrished by owners, but ive got my heart set on one now. Ive seen a few pop up on ebay and they are not so bad projects, but im after the one where the lady talks as my daughter used to say 20 yrs ago which was when I had my old one.
again, if anyone knows of one then let me know. And if I do get one, I will be in touch nottingham chaps, im only in burton joyce.

You can always retrofit the dash/voice if you find a car that you like that doesn't have it.

4k! Sounds good money for an mg but if it was the first gen then 4 k isent that bad. Im still looking for a first gen mg maestro, so again please let me know if you know of one.

Oddly that same car I refered to in the post above was obviously bought by a dealer & I understand it is now for auction with a price of £6 to £!0,000.
