Newbie Member and MG Montego Owner

[The HOF]

Hi, I am the new owner of MG Montego G990HOF. Following collection yesterday 1st September from Mr John Counsell (very nice and knowledgeable man by the way) I drove The HOF 142 miles to my sons for storage over the winter months. I stopped to fill up and was immediately approached by a chap in his mid twenties, who was very enthusiastic, asking questions saying he hadn't seen one for years etc and if pictures could be taken.

A very pleasant drive was had with plenty of nods and thumbs up acknowledgements along the way. The best was from a classic car transporter driver on the M6 moving E-Type and Mercedes convertibles and a mini who on seeing me in his mirrors wound the window down to lean out for a better look and sounded his horn, again the thumbs up!

The HOF didn't miss a beat, drove very well with no issues whatsoever as predicted by Mr C. Very pleased with reaction so far and to be an owner again after many years and I look forward to attending shows next year, weather permitting.

Welcome to the forum Simon. I am jealous, what a smashing car. Posted a link up on the forum when it was for sale the other week saying if I had the space I would have had it. looks fantastic and in the best colour for an mg montego. Is it as good as in the pictures then? Where about in the country are you located?

Thanks for the welcomes and the responses. Yes the car is as good as the pictures, just cleaning jobs for now. I will assess and improve over time as I hope to be the owner for a long time. I live in Leeds and have other MG's and Rovers to keep me busy.

I do my own thing regards entering shows as I don't go when it rains which means letting people down when your in a club. I will keep an eye on the events page and hope to be around next year.
