  • Austin Maestro

Hi all. I'm very happy to be the proud new owner of a 1984 1.3L Austin Maestro and am glad to part of this motoring community!
It has found a couple of it's owners in this club and has now winged it's way to Norfolk. The second owner was an AR technician and did his apprenticeship on the Maestro and when he obtained it decided to make it the car he'd always wanted as a lad. Great for me ( but apparently irritating for some!), it has been upgraded with the voice synthesiser and also twin bright-highlight door mirrors, HLS Plain and Chalkstripe Velvet seats and upholstery, electric front windows, remote boot release, passenger cigar lighter and a 5 speed gearbox. She's finished in Clove Brown (another Marmite choice) and I love it! A friend of the previous owner named her 'Sh*te' Rider but I thought Clover was much more fitting!

Welcome to the club. That looks very much like a KGF Classics photo in your avatar?

I think he 'unsold' it. Perhaps because he learned it was a 'bitsa' car and never worth £6k!

As of today it's still listed by the optimistic folk at KGF here:

Thanks for the welcome Andy. grogeeUnfortunately, or fortunately we're the ones that bought the bitsa car from KGF! We are in need of a nearside front indicator lens though, as it's just fallen off and disappeared down the road, hahaha! So if anyone has, or knows the best place to get a Unipart, new, old stock part, I'd appreciate it! Thanks, Ruth.

P.s Sorry if the car offends the purists on here but the 1.3 HLS made for the italian market had some of the upgrades listed, so I like to think it sits well with it's european cousins!
