    Are all starter motors the same for 1.3 maestro `s through the years ? as I may need one .

    i believe they are the same for the 1.3 and 1.6.. heres one on ebay

      Not quite correct as they have different part numbers between 1300 and 1600 versions (although 1300 and 1600 cold climates are the same!) and between early and late models (upto 86 and 86 on). Basic model type for 1300 is 8M90 and for 1600's is 9M90. HTH

          To all intents and puposes, Yes- but based only on the 8M90 model type. I can't say why they changed the partnumber in 86! For that we will need someone with indepth knowledge of the engine specifications around that time.
