Maestro 5 speed gearbox speedo retaing bolt

Hi can someone help me the speedo cable retaining bolt on my 5 speed gearbox is loose it will not tighten up any ideas?

If the hole is stripped then proper repair is helicoil, which might not be practical. If it still has some sort of grip on the bolt, you could try loctite studlock on the bolt, then tighten it as far as possible and wait until it sets. As long as cable is held in sufficiently when the loctite sets then it will stay put.

Thanks for the info I tried the loctite studlock and it as seemed to have done the trick it is now holding it tight great help thanks.

No problem, glad it did the trick, it is surprisingly effective as long as there are enough traces of the original thread left...
