Always loved the Maestro ... and finally get a chance with the offer of a 1.3 City X. One thing that concerns me is availability of spare parts. It's in good condition, so, at this time, the emphasis is less on bodywork parts and more on the general service type items that might be expected. It won't be a high miler day-driver ... so needs will be modest over time ... but one can still expect the normal service items being required on a regular basis. Being the A series derived engine ... I'm assuming that parts for these are readily available as it is used in many places across the marque range. Would that be a fair assumption? What about gearbox, exhausts, brake pads, calipers, gaiters, drive shafts, suspension, steering, track-rod ends, handbrake cables, light clusters / lenses, brake discs, trim, gauges, rubber seals (door, window, etc), etc. etc. Are there specialist suppliers to support the cause ? In other words ... how challenging will the availability of parts be to keeping the car tip-top and running nicely on the road ? Thank you everyone in advance for your patience and support with a 'newbie'.

Maestro Parts Availability - Range of Suppliers and Parts Available

Some parts are a bit scarce, but most service items are readily available, 1300 oil filter is the same as a Triumph one, brake pads are the same as Reliant Scimitar SS1. Exhausts are not easy to find, but getting a stainless one made is not frighteningly expensive. 1300 gearbox is the same as a vw golf, so not bad for parts availability, in a VW the common fault seems to be diff failure, but I've not seen any Maestros that suffered this.
