  • Lowering MG Maestro

As I just bought Konis all round for the MG, I would like to lower the car with sports springs when taking the suspension apart anyways.
Where can I buy some uprated springs?

motobuild do various lowering springs. Ask if compatible with your konis

If you have got standard dampers and then fit lowered/shortened springs, you may have a problem with the springs dropping out of the seats on full droop. If it happens, you can get round it by drilling a couple of holes on the top seat and then using very strong wire - like baling wire - hold the springs in place. It will get through an MOT like this but not really recommended.

        Ok, thanks for the info.
I haven't received the dampers yet but reckon them to be standard length.
So you'd rather recommend not to lower the car then?

Theres a chance 1" lowering springs wont come off their seats at full droop but but 1.5" etc will. However Ive never tried them on standard dampers. The recommended method is always, shorter springs - shorter dampers

And is it possible to shorten regular dampers?
