  • speedo clock for montego

    hi everyone
i'm having to look again for a speedo that fts a montego mayfair.
i managed to get one from a very kind member but it's going to cost £60
( estimate ) to repair it. i've been told that it has been under water at some stage in it's life.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

is it just the speedo that you need, or the whole instrument pack? I think speedos are all the same (1000 turns per mile) and am sure I'll have one somewhere, but most likely off a diesel, though there should be a petrol one somewhere too.....how big a hurry are you in?

Does the speedo need to be in km/hr?

The MG Turbo cars' speedos go up to 150 rather than 130. This is all in the same space so must be geared differently, so they won't be any good. I'm not sure if some old maestros only went up to 110?

Yes, some of the older 1.3s only went up to 110, as did most 1094-1988 Metros where the speedo was the same basic type of thing. Frank has a 2.0 car, but the one from either a 1.6 or 2 litre will work for his car as I've checked the part number.
