  • Filling up the gearbox. How?

With the help of Haynes' workshop manual Austin Montego MG & Vandenplas 2.0 petrol I found the gearbox filler plug located far at the back of the engine bay, very much down, on the left (the passenger's side in G.-B.). Aside from the very difficult location to fill up, the opening is vertical.
With these difficulties I discovered, how can one fill up the Honda 5-speed gearbox oil level?

The easiest way is to use a piece of plastic tubing pushed into the filler hole running up to a funnel under the bonnet

I did mine recently. Tricky to get at and get leverage. Used a scanner attached to a spanner. Filled with a piece of hosepipe about two feet long and a funnel. Added some stop leak too as mine was leaking and nearly dry. Two litres of engine oil to fill.
