  • Rear metal waterpipe MG Montego Turbo

This pic is a bit fuzzy but you should get the idea. It shows Andy's template and one of my commisioned pipes
I've had 4 of these made up and they are near finished. Excellent copy made in stainless steel of the rear metal waterpipe from my MG Montego Turbo and not expensive. All of the originals were made of mild steel and are by now rusty and about to 'give up'. Mine is on it's last legs so I commisioned these from a local fabricator from Andy's good template pipe. They will be completed by the time I pick them up monday and I will then post up better piccys. If anyone needs any additional info please let me know as these also fit MG Maestro Turbos

Picked up the pipes now and a very good job they are too.

I now have everything I need for my Turbo for the mechanical side autumn/winter revamp and will be starting it in November.
I'm also looking at the possibility of commisioning the heater pipes being made out of stainless steel while it's sorn and if anyone wants any details of any of this please let me know as this is a one off. If nobody does I will just do my own and Andy's from our template.

      Nice one.

I made the very similar one for my old van out of copper pipes. Not as neat and pretty but still perfectly functional.

The waterpipes I had made up for a reasonable price of £25.

I bet that is less than the original part cost, even if you still could get them.

Looked top notch in the metal today too.

As no one else has expressed an interest, the spare I had made up will now go on ebay at the non-MMOC discount price.
The heater pipes will also have a restricted small number made.

Which pipe is this exactly? I've not been able to get out to our Turbos for more than three months so I can't picture in my mind where it goes!

runs along the back of the block under the exhaust manifold; one end has a short elbow hose onto the thermostat housing, the other end has a hose onto the heater pipe through the bulkhead.

I'm having another run of these pipes done and will be seeing my fabricator later in the week.
I have a list of 8 at the moment, anyone else want one or two done while I'm there?

Remind me what the damage (to my wallet) is likely to be?

                          Same as before?

Jeff - do you have future plans for the heater core pipes?
