  • T16 engine

right i have 2 t16 engines one is from a 220 tom cat and the other from a 620 ti the tom cat has a large coil and the 620 has a small coil whats the difference and which is the best one?

If it is an early 220 then it will be distributer and coil. Possibly the ti could well be wasted spark so no distributer on he end of the inlet cam and what you are pointing at is a coilpack rather than a traditional coil.

Put it this way, I'm considering buying a ti to convert mine over to wasted spark. I'd go with the ti engine if you can confirm it is ws.

Post up some pics and we'll soon tell you.

No, you will need to check the ecu to be sure it has a 4 gap flywheel, only the very early 220's used a 2 gap fly so the 600ti engine will be the best bet. Then you will need to switch the injectors from red bands to blues. Wasted spark ecu, coilpack, leads, erm, I think that is it.

I thought all 600's were wasted spark.
