    I agree with the waxoyl comments - heat it up well (placing can in direct sunshine is a good way) and also the car.
    As to the original question - rear arch liners - after my old Maestro rusted copiously all round the filler pipe (as had my Metro), for my Ledbury (and then the old one, later the Metro) I cut a smallish piece of ABS plastic to fit underneath the filler pipe, with as tight a fit all round as possible, and held on to the filler pipe itself with a suitably-sized U-bolt. Hopefully that will be one problem it won't have!
