Does anyone know the exhaust bore size for the 2.0 EFI as I have TD estate and struggling to get a backbox silencer I'm told the diesel is 54 and petrol is 45 but must vary between 1.3 1.6 and 2.0 I've managed to weld the razor blade thin metal but guessing it won't last forever

Hi Kromidge, I don't have a diesel Montego however i can help with part numbers if you haven't got them already; GEX 33227 is the Rover part No and 281- 685 is a Bosal number. I've tried searching but, sorry , i can't find one anywhere. Most sites that do list them are out of stock. You could try your local motor factors or messaging those that list on Ebay e.g carpartsinmotion or gtexhausts- you never know they may have a stash in their attic? As a last (first?) resort get a local exhaust fabricator to make one up in stainless using your existing one as a pattern. You'll never need another if you go down that road? I did stumble across this centre box though from gtexhausts - you could message the seller re a rear box.
