  • Photos of F996 RHP and MG Maestro Turbo No. 1 required urgently for magazine article

I am currently approving the final proof of Part 2 of the MG Maestro Turbo story which is due to appear in the March 2014 issue of MG Enthusiast magazine. This has been written by me, with Part 1 having appeared in the current issue (February 2014).

However, I do not have any photos of the black Press car (F996 RHP) or any recent photos of No. 1 which was registered as H352 MOP. Does anyone have any high quality images for these two examples which they would be prepared to make available for use with the article without payment? I have photos for the other three press cars (F997 RHP, F998 RHP and F999 RHP) but not of the black car.

If you are able to help and can get something to me by this weekend, please send me a private message and I will then forward on my email address.

    Many thanks in anticipation.

The last I heard of no.1 was that it was spotted in a garage in Birmingham and due to it being unlicenced we feared someone had scrapped it not knowing its history

Thanks for this, Jeff, I had forgot Martin had once owned it. Do you have an email address for him?

I think it attended the MG Saloon Day in the early Millennium years, from memory.

I genuinely hope this is only a rumour as it would be awful if after falling off the radar for the first ten years of its life and no-one knowing what happened to it as a Motor Show exhibit, No. 1 has now actually been lost for good.

Sorry, he had number 5 but he was trying to track it down a few years ago. Don't know if he ever found it though, last I heard it was in the Birmingham area

Likewise, I too hope it is not true.

I have tried searching the forum for a couple of hours now, to find where I read this information but I have been unsuccessful.

Can anyone else remember reading about this? I guess I may have read this on MMM if not?

Cheers Jeff although I am sure I read something far more recent expanding on this, a positive sighting, or known whereabouts of the car. At a guess around 2007-2010ish?

There are some interesting photos of no.1 here:

And many good info/images about Tickford Turbos in general here:

I have photos of F996 RHP taken by Martin Woods when he owned the car, also of H352 MOP from Stoneleigh 2003. They are all Martin's photos so David will need Martin's permission to use them. I have PM'd Martin's email address to David so David can contact Martin and seek permission. Once it is granted, I can send David the photos (though Martin may send them to him in any case, so I won't need to).
