A member based in Ashford is in need of someone who could help in servicing his one-owner 1.3 Montego. Is anyone aware of a garage who is understanding of our cars or is there a member who could spare the time to carry out a basic service on this car. I understand that the owner has eyesight problems which is why he is unable to do the work himself, and the previous garage will no longer deal with older cars.

It might be worth looking for a Mini specialist in the area, they'll recognise the engine if nothing else & should be willing to work on older cars. If it is just a basic service it won't be much different to a Mini, as long as they realise, or are told, that the oil filter is a Triumph part rather than a Mini one. I do know one 'one man band' mechanic in Surrey that used to work at a Rover dealers, but he is near Dorking, which might be a bit far to travel.
