Nothing to report really. Have ordered the pistons, will be finished in June. Have had the head finished with new guides cleaned up etc, really please with it just like new.

As i have sold the ZS180 i used to have i have some money now, so have brought the panals i need (well apart from the arches ). Have 2 new driveshafts also to go with the gearbox and turbo and soon to be finshed engine.

Just looking forward to get the block all finsihed and the engine back together, so i can get it down my mates bodyshop. Should be finished this year to late for summer though

As i have not done much to the project for a time, and having seen Simon R's car i thought i would do the springs.

As you can see they will make a bit of a difference

well then people here is an update.

i have been waiting for the pistons since April and they were finshed in June, so they are at the engineering firm now getting put into the block. They are also doing a full balance on the bottom end.

as i would like to do as much of the work i can myself to keep costs down i have started to spray paint for the first time. I was going to keep the opeline but it is a differcult colour to spray so have gone for the flame red option, as after all they look so great in flame red. Bit of a step back as i had to take off all the parts i had refitted under the bonnet but i am back to waiting for the engine again now.

          Heres some pics

Accralite have kept the pattern on their records and have catologed the piston pattern so if anyone else wants a set it should take as long to get them. Though they are just over £700 inc VAT for a set!!!! (4 pistons with rings, clips and pins, and one spare bare piston)

First time the 1985 shell has held anything so heavy.....or so powerful

I built up the engine and gearbox, with turbo on the floor first before putting the whole lot in the car, much easier that way.

Need to get some more head dowls made up as they are not longer available. Used t series plastic dowls machined by 0.5mm off the diameter and they fit purfectly.

I also had to make up a new throttle cable as this to is N/A.

Have done lots more today and friday, and more planned tomorrow. Pics to follow

Ok as promised an update for the car so far.

Well the front end of the cr is complete mechancial wise. Just needthe rad and i have ordered some new ducting from ebay. It looks like the orianagl so we will see how good it looks. i also need to sort out the rollbar at some point, though i will leave it off for now.
My last turbo i removed the roll bar to and it didnt under steer as much, just rolled more. This time i have fitted powerflex bushes and lowered the car with the lowering springs that i got free when i brought turbo 237 4 years ago. i have no idea how low they are, will see when finshed.

                      Heres the pics

                      http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...r/100_0503.jpg

Suspension and brakes all done, new rack, new calipers, new bearings, new bushes, new shocks, new lowering springs, new driveshafts and new braided hoses.........new tyres are next

                      http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/c...r/100_0504.jpg

the scuttle is not painted yet, and so is the rest of the car. under the scuttle is done, so it is just a case of masking. i would like the screen removed first to treat any rust that maybe under there.
