Episode 2
Got started on this today and...............................felt like i'd got nothing done.
Re-doing various things that haven't been done correctly by 'helpful friends'.
Made up some gaskets for the carb and put that on then noticed various wires without any connectors so fixed those. Re-routed the wiring round the starter motor as that was in the wrong place then noticed the worse sensor of all to fit wasn't on the car. Had to remove the inlet manifold to get that on.
Then noticed the connection oil tube from the bottom of the turbo to the engine was kinked and no cover shield. Finally got that on but i'm not happy with it so will replace the complete exhaust manifold and turbo etc.
Bolted up the bottom gearbox bolts as they weren't on, connected the gear selector and re-connected steady bar as the rear washer wasn't on.
Then noticed no side rubbers on any engine mountings so will have to remove the bolts and put those on, also noticed most wires have no connectors on and are just exposed wires so will have to sort that.
Removal of the sump and oil filter next as thats damaged to be replaced with new that came with the car.Last edited by Jeff Turbo; 13th October 2012, 19:17.1958 Ford Consul Convertible. I love this car
