I hope you called in at the Lenham Cafe (www.lenhamcafe.com ) on your way back home - the A20 is nicer to drive to Dover than just going down the motorway, and the photos on the walls would have given you lots to talk about!
Good to meet you, and thanks for coming over the water to see us all...
A pity a few more like you didnt turn up, it means the lads at Tony Fowkes Autos have a fridge full of ham rolls and cakes to eat this week. Three Cheers or the Dutch, eh?
Nice to see the John Clayton ex-works "celebrity racer" Maestro parked alongside the World Cup car - this car was driven by top flight Formula One stars in its day also by leading rally drivers like Tony Pond and its an important part of Maestro history. This and a few Maestro's in the car park (which was given over to us all exclusively for a couple of hours - all other visitors to the Ace were marshalled on the gate to go and park around the back!) gave us all lots of room.
An interesting morning. The effort by Roger and Andy in clearing all their customer cars out of the bodyshop at Tony Fowkes Autos must have been huge - where did they hide them all? the most interesting part of the day was inspecting the floor of the rallycar on the ramp...as Tony says, "what a strong car this is...how under-rated!".
