Lay it on thick and screw his ins co for every penny you can get.
I wouldn't have said that once, but had it been the opposite way round I bet he'd do it to you. It's a dog-eat-dog world now, and as you can't beat 'em you may as well join 'em.

I intend to John, not my idea as the insurance company has pushed it.

ducking retard should be jailed for causing this! Dangerous driving!
          bloody hell!
make sure you bang in a good whiplash claim and compensation for being for initial shock of fearing death, scared on dual carriageways for mindless retards aiming at you head on!
          unbelievable!
0-60 in 8.2 hours 1/4mile in time for breakfast but the rust wins hands down

the thing is these b'stards dont even get a ban. It should be that if your so f'**king stupid that you listern and take notice of a machine that tell you to turn the wrong way onto a motorway, drive down a railway line or into a river. You should get an automatic 5 year ban and complete retraining at the end of it. Its just as bad as drink driving.
Last year I was behind some driving some toaster-o-like kia or something and he had his sat nav so bright and infront of him he couldnt see where he was going. This was on a country lane, after about 10min of 20mph brake ,25mph almost stop. It was time for hime to see mr 100w Cibie oscar and hear the horn he stopped and I was on my way. No the most responcible driving I know but these satnav adicts are a hazard on several levels

I agree, but the problem would then be: if they knew they faced a ban, they wouldn't admit to what caused their error (on this occasion, misinterpreting a satnav's instructions with their common sense turned off). They couldn't deny causing an accident, but they'd never admit to what caused it if that specific example of idiocy resulted in a ban but just saying "sorry I made an error" did not. So, you'd end up having to say whoever caused a serious accident of any description faced a ban.

Then you end up with "what is serious?". "Ah, easy", some may say, "serious is when they cause a write off". Well technically you can probably write-off most 15 year old cars (in terms of 'uneconomic repair') by denting their bumper in a car-park fender-bender. Would that deserve a ban? No of course not, So forgive me for playing Devil's advocate, and I know exactly where you're coming from, but the difficulty would be in precisely defining the offence in law.

EDIT: maybe the answer is to automatically ban and enforcibly re-train anyone and everyone who has caused an accident by dangerous driving. I'm sure driving up the wrong direction of a dual carriageway must be classed as dangerous driving.

To take Jeff's example, where he was on a dual carriageway. Nearly all grade separated roads such as those and motorways have entry and exit slip roads that have flared approaches and exits to ensure traffic is lined up correctly to enter and/or leave the motorway and/or dual carriageway safely. To make the effort to turn the wrong way down one of these slip roads should register in most people's minds that they are doing wrong as the angles they have to turn to gain entry should not compute. Therefore sat nav or no sat nav, they are obviously cretins who should never have passed their test anyway!

(People without any natural driving skill or empathy being allowed to pass the test being an entirely different and controversial subject...)

I'm sure we have all made driving mistakes and driving the wrong way on a motorway or duel carridgeway seems to be quite common. No idea why but it does happen from time to time.
I agree this guy is a **** as I was on the recieving end but he was genuinely shocked to find out what he had done.
Just hope this all gets sorted soon and i'm not out of pocket so I can put it all behind me.
The car is £75 per day plus VAT, transfering my plate is £105, car in my mind is £2500-£3000 in value then there is the uninsured losses, and who knows how much that will be. Storage, recovery fee, my losses etc etc
I feel sort of ok, knees throbbing, wrist throbs, thumb and a finger swollen, back and shoulders now starting to loosen up, headache finally going. Thanks all for your concern but I should be ok and as previously stated it's only metal.

sorry to hear about your car i had mine written of and the other **** that was driving denied it was his fault a year ago know havnt even got paid by the insurance as they insured mine wrong and i am going threw the obsman know

But it is nearly over know and i have claimed on personal injurie as well with my agreed pay out of 2000 for my car which i got raised from 1500 as i dissagreed the value as you should
Then i will get 2500 for injuries to my back and whiplash also pysio and travel paid and courtesy car as well

IVE BOUGHT A COUPLE OF CARS TO MAKE ONE GOOD ONE OUT OF THEM

Might have a bit left to upgrade a few bits and a enough for a pint
i know its time and labour but if youve got a good insurance company and a good doctor and sick pay its not to late to goto the doctors as injuries can turn up a few days after a accident get to the hospital for a record of injuries or not this adds weight to your claim and also make sure there is no whiplash
                      all the best

This almost happened to me in my truck a few years ago on the way into Hull, woman driver in a white golf , on the f phone but just stopped at the bottom of the slip road just in time, then slowly reversed back up the slip road
