I'll take that on board, thanks!

I'd like to do more versions of the mk3 capri and mk3 escort some time in the future, however there appear to be two barriers with both of these:

    1) How can I take off the headlights and black grill at the front without causing damage? Are there any special glue removers that may do the trick?

    2) I'm able to unscrew the base which obviously gives me access to inside the model, however on both these models the dashboard /seats are glued on real strong.... obviously I need to take these off to remove the window set.

Again do you think there's any types of glue removers that'll be able to do the trick?

With the sierra I've been lucky as the dashboard's glued on in such a way that I'm able to pull it off without damage. Similarly I'm able to take the front nose out, with it the headlights come off.

you can get super glue remover, I have some but havnt tried it yet. Try repeated immersions in boiling water and gently pressing them.
You could get a bit adventurous and try making a mk2 capri. You would need to file/fill the wing bottoms and the leading edge of the bonnet and make new grille and lights

I have loads of models like these ones. I have a brooklands green Princess, gold Rover SD1, Vauxhall Cavaliers in gold and red, Austin Allegro in Tundra green, Ford Escort mk3 in white, Ford Capri, Talbot Sunbeam and quite a lot more.

I'm trying to look out for a oporto red Rover SD1 model. They are really rare Great collection you have there

You really should post pictures of your collection on here - it would be great to see these. Your theme appears to be really similar to mine so I'd love to see all your motors.

I'm trying to claw back some of the vast amounts of money I've spent since I started collecting a few months ago lol. Must be something like £300+ off the top of my head! I've put two new resprayed sierras up on ebay, if they do sell I'll make approx something like £15 profit for each one which isn't too bad. I've ordered four new really cheap vanguards sierras online from Hong Kong, approx £10 for each one including p&p.

I'll repsray these with the left over spray paint and hopefully sell them off on ebay, I still maintain I'd like a beige version for myself but I'll only do that as a reward if I get rid of the others!

Also ordered a cheap mk3 capri and mk3 escort again from hong kong, something like £11 each. I'll paint these in different colours that aren't available on the market from the touch up paint I've got left over... vision blue and mandarin copper. Given up on spraying these.... impossible! Glue removers and the like are no good as they'd damage the models.

Collection stops until I've I've managed to get some return on the money I've spent - I've spent too much!

Thanks, I'm aware of that and will buy one as soon as it's out!

Think I'll put the new pictures up in early December, there have been changes or shall I say exchanges + additions since the last picture.

Gone: red cavalier and white morris marina

In: white cavalier, orange morris marina and black ford escort XR3i

In coming: black ford sierra XR4i + repsrayed sierras in navy blue, metallic green and beige.

Can't get enough of these scale 1/43 motors, especially the ford sierras. Still one day hope they produce a montego and meastro, would dearly love these in my collection.

Those Corgi Maestros aren't 1/43 scale, despite what that particular eBay ad may say.

Thanks for the info, but that particular model would look completely out of sync with all the others, it actually looks like a toy! It's the fine attention to detail which makes these motors so appealing and real life-like.

Beige-coloured Austin 1300 estate added to the collection, that's the oldest model I have now. Adds a touch of realism, unrealistic walking into a car park of 20+ cars and the vast majority being within 4-5 years old.

I've sprayed the beige, navy blue, yellow and metallic green versions of the sierra, all these now just in their shells, I'll wait for the paint to totally dry and probs put the bits and pieces back on on Wednesday evening. I did another one in yellow as my nephew really liked the original yellow one and asked if he could have it!

I've gone a step further this time and resprayed the interior on some of these models aswell, in chocolate brown and beige.

The new yellow and beige versions won't have any spoilers. I particularly remember the beige versions from childhood - saw loads of these - all without a spoiler, they were the more basic versions not XR4i.

I'll put all updated pictures up in late November/December once I buy the black XR4i. Vangards say it's due out at the end of this month.

a picture of a couple of customised models:

Escort and Sierra resprayed, Cavalier's grill resprayed to represent an earlier mk2 model.

I'll put pictures up of a new carpark once I've resprayed a cavalier in brown.
