  • MG Montego Turbo Battery

Hi everyone. On my fan kicking in at tickover, my engine stalls. Testing with a borrowed battery that issue goes away. Can anyone tell me the required ah rating I should be getting fir a replacement so I don’t under-spec? Current one is Exide EB442 44aH 420A. Should I replace like for like or does it need more poke?

I put a Tanya 75 battery on my sons turbo. But for a car to stall your existing but be near flat or knackered. Any charged battery would not have the engine stall if the radiator fan kicks in so check on that before you buy another

Thanks Jeff. Battery shows 12.4v at rest, starts the car with moderate enthusiasm. There was no belt squeal on start up with the new battery and the fan Sydney stall it. When running the voltage across the borrowed battery was 14.3v so the alternator seems to work.

I’ll look up that battery to see the aH rating
