  • One of the remaining percent done, intake pipe as the old route was blocked by the intercooler pipework being in a different place. I've just got to make up some plates to close off airflow around the intercooler and rad now, and finish the modified bumper.

Currently the top hose is a bit mad, ordered up a 180 degree bend which will make it look near factory fit though.

    • Now for sale, as things are it's worth more in parts so if there is something you see...

      • You're not going to break this up are you phil? Can't believe you don't want to finish it after so much work.

How much do you want for that screwdriver

        • To you Russ? £1

I feel it's time to clear out. I may well have a crazy turbo project again but for m=now I have a diesel project I'm going to concentrate on. Times change and I will miss it, it was phenomenal and so many people on the road appreciated it. I'll always remember that. A project like this is never finished and that is exactly why I have to say enough is enough.

          • Such a shame but if you feel it's time then it is time. Good luck with the sale.

            • intercooler

For a while now ,ive been doing my r series 1600,but just come across this thread,i have a t16 which has been on back burner for a while. Does this fit [intercooler] straight onto the car,as I have a twin fan triple core radiator fitted and the standard intercooler ,no matter how I fit it, it intrudes on standard turbo bumper .Would this solve my problem? allways assuming you are going to sell it.

              • Thanks Thomas, yes it is time for it to live on in someone elses car sadly!

I'd not comfortably say it will fit without modification. I've not seen a turbo bumper close up so I can't answer that.

All main engine parts and coilovers may well be sold already.

edit: Coilovers are already sold to Al, I've just got to deliver.

                • Is the turbo for sale and what intercooler are you running?

                  Comment

                  • Very likely the turbo and intercooler will be sold with the engine I'll let you know if not. I do have a double width intercooler you might want though. It was fully cleaned, pressure tested, etc last year. It is 2 maestro intercooler welded together. Apparently pace did the job years ago

                    • Maybe although that's what I have at the mo although using chemical metal rather than welded you may laugh but it's been going strong on 3 cars over 10 years!
May also be interested in red pipes amd anything else you think I might need! Did you put the 4 pot brakes on in the end?

                      • All on and all will be going with the engine. If not I'll pm you.

                          • Nope, its a copper one. I've got a good contact for rads though. The potential buyer of my car, he may even sell you the one on my maestro!

                            • I have a three core rad - an alloy rad would be a good upgrade but very expensive to bay new. The chap you mention - is it the copper or alloy ones he can make?
