M364 RCK White Maestro Turbo diesel

Still just getting used to the clutch, the whole car shudders when I take off from lights and the door is a bit of a to open need to get the wd40 on it, but other than that I'm made up with it did just over 100 miles today for a tenna.

Actually, thinking about it, I have had custody of (not necessarily owned!!) quite a few maestros and montegos, can I remember the reg's?

      BPD718Y - Austin Maestro 1.6HLS
A225*** - Austin Maestro 1.6L (cant remember the rest of the reg!)
      D445DRV - MG Maestro EFi
      C248CTT - Austin Maestro 1.3L
      G208BPM - MG Montego 2.0i
      A270RRH - Austin Maestro 1.6 HLS

      And currently:

      A154YHR - MG Maestro 1600
H762DBK - Rover Maestro LX (as the V5C tells me!!)

More than I thought, actually! I'm guessing they're all dead by now (the second HLS definitely is, engine donor for the MG!), I know three of them are anyway, the first HLS was sold on but the Montego may still be doing the rounds.....!

                    Two for me...

Montego 1.6L Saloon, 1987 E-reg, in azure blue over hurricane grey, mechanicals untouched but lots of an SLX and VDP in the interior. Currently on the road for the winter.

Maestro Vanden Plas, 1983 Y-reg (oldest known to the Club), in arum white, pretty standard. On my mum's drive, awaiting laying up in her garage and some bodywork over the winter.

                    Also have owned...

Montego Vanden Plas Auto, 1986 D-reg, oporto red. This car was the spawn of the devil!
Montego 2.0SLX, 1991 H-reg, silver. This car was as rotten as the proverbial pear, sadly.
                    Rich Smith

"Joe", aka "The Ryton Express", aka E838 VJO. Peugeot 309SR main car
"Kryten", aka A560 SCW. Left hand drive MG Maestro 1600 'R' second in command
"Fleagle", aka F929 NNA. Montego 1.6L saloon stored, status "doubts set in"
"Cracow", aka CCW 925Y Maestro Vanden Plas - the oldest known to the Club stored, status "will fight another day - eventually"

1993 Maestro DLX, Flame red over Tempest Grey, soon to be back on road.

1984 Maestro VP, Opaline Green (only one in the club?).

                              Woo hoo! I'm different!

With the list so far, I seem to be the only board member with a Maestro 1.3LX! G467 UFD

currently on the road in everyday use but come January I'm afraid it's going, It will be either:

                              1) Offered free to any member of this board who wants it
                              2) Stripped down, parts sold on, turn the remainder into a banger racer
                              3) Driven to a scrappies, stripped and eventually squashed.

Hate to steal your thunder, but I also have a 1.3LX, which is currently my daily runaround, until I decide on one of three things: to keep it, to get a Peugeot 405 t/d estate, or a Montego t/d estate.....

                                Ooooh, choices!

                                Ricky.
