  • Unbelievably jealous Jeff, cannot wait to see this car.
What an attraction this will be at shows

    • Pre MOT booked it for thursday afternoon, I know it's going to fail on the welding, exhaust and spongy brakes but I want to know what it might also fail on.
Got a reasonable quote and the bodywork will be sorted while i'm on holiday in June.
The car also deperately needs a run as the auto choke is a bit sticky and sometimes the engine 'hunts' abit.
The interior was also extremely damp from non use and sitting outside all these years so its a bit musky at the moment

      • 2 experiments did not work so I have removed the headlining biscuit and put in the one from my red Digidash for now, I've also removed the side internal lamps as they bumped on to the roof so wouldn't sit properly and the ford internal lamp I could not get to fix onto the existing opening properly.
I now stripped the headlining again and have ordered some more and will re-cover it later

        • MOT today so I thought i'd give the car it's first wash for a long time, and came up not too bad at all. Fixed the wipers that had a lose connection

Thanks Oil, Pre-MOT so it's free where I go.
New exhaust now on and brakes sorted.
Failed on 2 things, the offside rear box section that I knew about and the emissions that were too high at 6.4 instead of 4.5 maximum so running on neat petrol then
                  Not bad at all.
I will sort all this during the week and put it in for a proper MOT after that

Ta John, Box section first then a new thermostat as its not warming up enough and that didn't help the emissions.
I will then remove the throttle body and clean it with lots of carb cleaner before sorting the emissions

                          • The old girl is looking well Jeff considering her age. Brings back memories of my A reg digi dash light metallic green example I had all those years ago. I admire your determination and get up and go attitude to take on such projects and complete them. Hats off to you Jeff - the best progress thread on the forum for sure!

Thanks Mike, it's getting there slowly but it's getting there. hopefully will be on the road in a couple of weeks, then I can iron out some niggles with it. The 'first ones of the line' were so complicated.
When this is on the road I have to re-start my sons project MG Montego Turbo as I haven't touched it for nearly a year http://www.maestro.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=14489 as I promised I would this year, at the same time as my white one. My other red MG Montego efi digidash will be after those, or maybe during lol

                              • Emissions and agreed insurance sorted.
Removed the throttle body and cleaned with carb cleaner, was quite a bit of black goo that came out. Car runs much better now so just welding to do next week
