            Lining cleaned
It's made of pulp and covered on the top with lining paper. I made the mistake of wetting it but all it needed was a rough cloth to clean it. Should dry ok though

All i've managed to do since May is grind the servo ready for spraying. Hoping to finish that this week and re-start this project as it's taking far too .
Unfortunately the car will have to be moved to another barn soon but it will still be under cover

Can't believe I've missed most of this.
Great work so far. Very interesting seeing the difference between the two dashboards.

I haven't done anything on it for awhile so maybe that's why.
I was a bit nervous cutting into one of my good dash's but it came out well

Heater pipes are in very good condition

                          Early gasket

for those who don't know there are two of these on early cars.

Next thing to do is remove the resistor as the fan only works on setting 5, its sooooo much easier with a modern car

Hope you remember Jeff where all that goes back together.

Never seen cleaner heater pipes like that for a long time - would you sell it by any chance.....??

Yeah I know where it all goes mike.
Pipes are not for sale, I have removed the resistor and the coils are ok. The problem is the small black connecting part on the resistor unit, its corroded and the copper is green etc.
No idea yet where in going to get another so will try maplins first, unless someone has one in their spares somewhere ?
The heater resistor and wiring loom is the same throughout the Maestro/Montego range up to 1988
Anyone got a spare they don't need?
