I'm trying to find something like this to hold the headlining biscuit up when i've recovered it, but I can't find the right tape. Any one got any leads for me to follow up?
Or a metal strip that I can attach it to as it's sagging quite badly in the centre

Fully enjoying reading through this. I don't look half often enough.
That servo is brilliant. What did you do? Sand it flat, hit it with a rust-killer and Hammerite it?

Yep spot on John but it looks far better in the picture, didn't realise who much would be showing. Still it's better than what it was

This might do, stuck on the top and with flat clips through the biscuit that the headlining material might cover

With these pushed through from the underside to hold it after i've shaped it. Being near flat they might be hidden enough when I do the headlining

                      Engine next
Early heads are different to later ones

                      Very early belt tensioner

Offside front wheel and dust cover had to be remove to see this part

Mark on the cam didn't line up so marked it with tipex as it will go back the same

                        Water pump next

                        Note the early oil switch

                        Unfortunately this happened

Water pump was on it's last legs and a bit stiff

Tensioner differences. Was supposed to be for an early engine but clearly isn't. Cam belt also fits a Renault Meganne

Early tensioners are mega rare but a very good friend has found one in...................................Spain
Luckily my eldest sons girlfriend is half Spanish so she's going to enquire for me
Also got the trial leccy windows working, so just need to alter the existing loom and add another switch.
I've also found what I'm going to use to brace the headlining biscuit to stop it going out of shape. Glued on and in specific areas this should be enough

I have sourced a tensioner, same shape and dimensions of a Ford OHC Capri/Cortina/Transit engine and only £25 if it works
                              So hopefully it fits

Brand new core plugs arrived today and i've now sorted the tensioner
The pinto one is slightly different

Bolt holes are a bit narrower
