I think i've found a solution for this large opening for the front interior lamp as all were too small for the opening

        From a Ford KA/Transit
        http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Ka-Sp...item5d464439b1

I should be able to modify it to attach to the biscuit and fit into the opening.
Any comments or suggestions for this?

Jeff, is the lamp cut out the same size as the metro boot lamp?

I've no idea Russ, don't know anything about metros but I saw one on ebay and it didn't look big enough

Thanks Ed, should be on the road hopefully by March 2014 as Tanya has given me a target for Cowley

The length isn't the problem Russ its the added width that's needed as the normal lamp unit is too small. No idea why they didn't either make a bigger lamp unit or smaller opening. The ka lamp should be fine but might just need one side cut down a little, will experiment when it gets here.
I got this idea when I was in turkey on holiday when I was in a merc minibus being picked up from the airport. The lamp on that would have been perfect but I can't find one here so this is the next best thing

                        • I pulled the 'one shot' switch apart and found 2 tiny springs had bent so I straightened them out and reset them. I also replaced the bulb.

The bulb has a green cover

                          • Wired the electric window loom to a battery off the car and it all works now for the first time in 10 years. Chuffed so once put into the car I can put the dash in. I now have 2 'one shot' switches working as I did the same with the other one so not bad then and I'm very pleased
Sorry the pictures are blurred but I couldn't get good close ups
