Bloody Red Tape & rubbish Government communication systems etc!
Luckily Mikey V8 has had experience of this and is helping me.
If the local car tax offices were still about I'd have no problems. I'm a tory but didn't vote for that. Worst idea ever

At least after this latest issue you should get a v5! Im just doing the same myself, just treated myself to a BMW 840 sport which I got from Ireland so ive had to apply for a log book for that........
After it seems an age I had a bit of time today to spend on this
All from my spares
New waterpump on
New cambelt
New powersteering belt
New Turbo sparkplugs in
Time to change the rotorarm as it's over 10 years old and I suspect faulty as the car wont pull away.
New distributer cap
New HT leads attached
Dremel off the rotorarm as its stuck fast, new one on and...............it moved.
Now the complete arm in my hand and now having to glue back on. not a big problem but running out of light and no glue.
Oh well next week is another week

Rotor arm now all sorted.
Started on the first turn and settled down on tickover.
Now moves under its own power, very happy about that.
Also sorted the windscreen wipers so they now work.
Will be moved it into the garage my black turbo was in tonight.
The next thing is to take it to the bodyshop I use to assess the price to restore, don't suppose that will be cheap but it will be done

Now off the drive, first time since it arrived and in its new home. My wife will be very happy
Drove well for 50 yards then didn't run properly again.
Loss of power, kept starting easy but kept loosing power.

This wouldn't be the inertia switch would it? My turbo will run for approx 60s then die when the intertia switch is in the "crash" position. It will continue to do this as while cranking the switch is bypassed so you get a float chamber full of fuel each time.

No its not that Ian, it wouldn't run at all if it was that.

be nice when its finished jeff, what plate will it go on (J) plate?.
I see it as usual dashboard lift one of my pet hates caused by heat?
It's a G plate Pete, I have a replacement dash in my barn for it.
Also have 4 doors, new bonnet I need to pick up from Sean, boot, offside rear wing, nearside arch, boot spoiler, all interior etc, exhaust and more. So I have all the parts needed.
Once I get it running properly I will tow it to the bodyshop for a quote.
I have to sort the running issue first.
