Put petrol in carb, turn over and fires up, put 2 gallons of petrol in tank and not pumping through
Check fuel pump and it's seized solid even after a hammer belt or two, will have to replace that with one of my spares up my barn.
At least it fires up now so that's good
While I was under the car checking the fuel pump I had a long look and the sills are solid, but damage from a jack in a previous life but not too bad at all, i'm very pleased. In addition 2 front shocks came with the car so an added bonus.
Nearside rear wing isn't needed so sold to Ed for his brown HLS, could have joined the pile of panels at my barn but Ed's need is greater than mine.

    Working
Electric windows, lights, heater fan, windscreen washers

    Not working
    Wipers, indicators, central locking, sunroof.

History turned up today. Now have the registration number given when made, receipt and lots of paperwork on the car.
Have also sent off for a vehicle import pack from the DVLA, that'll be fun then.

On another note, replacement fuel pump fitted, another gallon of petrol in the tank and..........still not pumping out.
Fuel pump is working so maybe not enough to kick start fuel getting through even after 3 gallons put it, it was completely dry though before.
Will have a good go at it on Thursday.

The car was exported in 2003 and I need an import pack that tells me all about putting a new V5 etc on the car. Hoping it's easy and I can have the original number plate back but it's the DVLA so you never know

The import pack is very easy, ive filled in a few over the years as ive imported a few muscle cars over from the Usa in the, its highly unlikely it will be given the same reg though, if you need any help PM me.

That's unfortunate about the reg number as it's etched on all the windows.
Thanks for the offer mike, might be in touch.
Certainly an interesting car from the history im reading

Just remembered, I once bought a car over from Ireland that had been registered in the UK before It went over there, when I registered it it did come back with its original reg, I think it depends on when it went over there, if it was done before it all went computerised id imagine it wont have the same reg again, you could try doing a HPi on the cars original reg, or going to the Gov website and doing a vehicle history check.

After 10 years and after a few trials and tribulations the car is alive.
Petrol was flooding out of the carb and I wasn't sure why so Mal and I narrowed it down to 2 things.
Turned out to be the return from the fuel pressure gauge is blocked, so I bypassed and put a fuel line in a petrol can.
Then it started on the button and runs really nice after a few adjustments.
Will be sorting the fuel return pipe hopefully soon, hope its not blocked in the tank but I shall see.
