Hi guys the wiper motor on my maestro is positioned on left passenger side of the car does this mean I need a left hand motor?

No, that is where the RHD ones live. Did you check the wiper control relay? It is beside the fusebox, I have seen them replaced with a piece of wire & 2 male spade connectors, this makes wipers work again (if relay was faulty) but you lose self parking and intermittent wipe.

Hopefully that will fix it then,if not,the relay could be the next suspect, iirc a Discovery one works, but changes delay times, if motor sorts it then this will turn out to be useless information!

Tried a new relay still does not work and the one Neil found is for a metro so now still looking for a wiper motor for a maestro would a montego one fit?

The fittings look similar, but part number is different, this could be as simple as a different plug, or there may be a fundamental difference between them, the Montego wiper controller is quite a clever item, but I'm not sure if the motor itself would need to be different. I'll see if I can find a Maestro one ...

Probably best, at least you know where you are with a new one, so far I've found the old one that I took off when I fitted a new one. Iirc I kept the old one in case it was repairable...probably not one of my better ideas, hope I don't find a box full of knackered control relays, or I might start believing those that have accused me of being a hoarder!

He still had one then from the link. Some things on the website have been sold so it's a bit out of date on a few things.
