  • Differences between Maestro and Montego exhaust tail sections?

    Hi all

I have found two new looking (although slightly dented) exhaust tail sections at my father-in-law's house. I am pretty sure one is Maestro and one is Montego, but I don't know which is which, or what the differences are to be able to tell.

They are almost the same length and bends, but not quite, but the notable difference is one has two bars close together for the rubber mounts just behind the silencer box, and the other only has one.

Can anyone confirm whether I am right about them being Maestro and Montego, or could both be for Maestros, but different engines?

Both are for sale if anyone wants to make me an offer. They are located in Coulsdon in Surrey.

    Thanks

Possibly interested Brendan, if one of them suits a 2.0i Maestro. I actually have a Montego exhaust on my Maestro at the moment but it's slightly a bodge job for the reasons Jeff says above. Also it's too loud!

Both appear to actually be mid-sections. They are both almost new/slightly used, but in good condition barring a few minor dents. The pipes look slightly different routing, and one has two exhaust rubber "pins" whilst the other has only one.

According to the part number it suits 1.6 or 1.3 Maestros but not mine unfortunately

Ref Montego exhausts. There's also two types of joins between the middle and rear sections. Early ones have the join over the rear beam
