Set to either an extra 80lb or approx 60 degrees from the click of 60lb. I did my Turbo head bolts up at 140lb. That ain't blowing anywhere

Hmm. Correct me if i'm wrong, but math was never my best subject at school. The 2.0L monty manual says "stage 3. Further 60 degrees or to 80 lbf (108 Nm) - whichever comes first. So, am i setting the wrench to 80 lbf or 140 lbf

My mistake sorry. 80lb should do it or 1/4 of a turn

                        Simon

Basicly, I screwed the cam covers to a bit of thick MDF. Then first I used a hand held wire brush and elbow greese to get most of the crud off. then a wire brush in an electric drill, then finished off with some fine wet & dry and a good rub with a clean rag. I did the same with the plenum chamber and the thermostate housing. Oh, and the manifolds where sprayed with VHT paint.

Cylinder head finished,at last:laugh: I did the final stage head bolt tightning today by an extra 20lbf (set T-wrench to 80lbf). It did need it a after all. The car runs really very much better and sounds smoother now that the unleaded head is on plus, fitting a whole load of other bits like a new timing belt, plugs, leads dizzy cap ect,ect helped as well i think. My thanks, as always, to all who gave me advice on the sublect and to Steve Smith for donating the UL head. Thanks guys.
