  • [Wanted] ADU8479 ECU

Hi everyone. My MG Turbo has an AFU9335 ignition ECU fitted which is not right and after lists of part swapping I think in need this to get it running right.

I’m told I need an ADU8479. I’m really struggling to find one and the usual routes are exhausted!

Does anyone know of anyone with one please who might be willing to sell… working or not… as there is a firm which will restore them but they need a unit to work on.

All help gratefully received. I’m a bit stuck.

    Matthew

Hi Pete. Under guidance of Vinny I’ve sourced an ADU9336 which I’m told can used as a substitute. However, if you do stumble across an ADU8479 I’m still interested!

ADU9336 from memory is for an injection car, not turbo Mat so no difference to what you already have so Vinny is in error I'm afraid. I've put up two links for you on your other thread and another this morning so you might want to look at those and get back to me as no comment as yet to whether those are any good for you. So I may as well stop looking

Hi Jeff. That’s a shame. I followed the links you kindly sent. Sadly after repeat contact the Polish firm wouldn’t ship. The U.K. firm looked promising then they looked at one they had in stock which I was asking them to get sorted for me, and they apologised and said the innards were not of an 8479 despite the box. So I’m stuck again.

When I got the car the air temp sensor was bridged, a non standard filter was fitted, wrong ECU (9335 which may be for a carb 2.0?) and I suspect they had a failed ECU they swapped for what they could get and just messed with everything to get it to work, albeit not well! It’s not far off back to standard now.

            Again - all help welcomed!

Right - I’ve managed to buy the one for sale on eBay in Spain. They wouldn’t post to the U.K. so I’m sending it to my cousin in Germany who will then send it to me. He’s the only one I know in mainland Europe! So thanks for the tip off Jeff. Let’s hope it survives the post! Even if it’s not working that other company may be able to restore it. Matthew
