Northern shows 2026

I've had a re-think, done some Googling. This Saturday, there is the FIRST Northwich car show. In previous years, more of a bike thing, this year on the Friday. I'll go to this, only 29.9 miles for me, avoiding the motorway. A leisurely, pleasant drive.
BUT, I do want to meet up with the Club! I wonder, Dalemain? Although I now live Wirral, Cheshire, "I come fray Cumbria, eh!"

Dalemain is always a good show, but they don't allow any late entries at all & usually just 2 or 3 Maestros/Montegos there, this year two that I know of. Because there are never enough of us for a club stand the cars tend to be spread out a bit too! If you know of any good shows in your area we could put them on the list & see what interest we get, most of the people that go to the shows at the minute are from Yorkshire, hence the east coast bias. We thought about tatton park last year, but the organisers only let a couple of Maestros in iirc...I went as a visitor & was quite shocked at what a rip off it was....buy a ticket for an event that has no public transport links, then pay extra for parking! Free if you display your car, but that only happens if they approve your car, or there is a club stand...

There's the Wirral Classic Car Show which I went to on the 10th May. I'll give some feedback on the Northwich show as it's the first one for Classic Cars.

There were no Club stands at the Wirral show. Entry was free. I didn't book, just turned up. A good couple of hundred cars there.


I'll research other shows, advise......

Well, Northwich Classic Car Show was a pleasant event - I was the only Maestro/Montego there but for us BL>ARG>Rover Group people there was an SD3, a Rover Metro "Rio", an ERA Mini, a couple of Mini Clubmans, a Stag and an XJS.


"Morris Montego" attracted a fair bit of attention both from the "I used to have one!" and some young lads not even born when it went out of production but who were well aware of what it was.

Sounds like a good day, I'm guessing that it will always clash with Hebden Bridge though, the Wirral classic car show might be one to add to next year's list. Next weekend's show at Locke park is always a good one, but a long way off for you...

If is held at Claremont Farm, JUST off junction 4 of the M53. The M56 can be a pig, but last 15 or so miles on the M53 will be a breeze

Sounds good, we generally just turn up anyway and meet up somewhere handy so we all go in together..

This link is to an entry pass for the Leeds show on 30 aug, if you are going to the show, print it out & put it in your windscreen, it will get you in for nothing (but since the show is in aid of the children's burn unit I think it would be mean not to make a donation), and will make life easier for the marshalls & get you to the club stand. What a bummer. Look at the sunshine there! I took the rover coupe to a show in Northumberland because it chucked down all day and I didn't want to take the maestro out in that weather. For some reason that show wasn't on my list It was closer to home aswell. Next year!

It was damp when I set off & damp when I got back, but from Scotch Corner southwards it was pretty much wall to wall sunshine...Whereabouts in Northumberland were you?

Ford and Etal Estate. I broke my golden rule and headed North instead of South, never again No idea why I missed that show. Looks like a fair few turbos there I have never seen. Arr well.

You were well up into the rainy zone there then! We were in the yellow heat warning zone....two red and two black turbos, if there had been another we'd have had almost 1% of total production
